Meesho label sorting changes the order of pages in a shipping-label PDF so that matching products or courier assignments are easier to work through. It does not change the order itself, and it cannot confirm that the item you put in a parcel matches the printed label. Use sorting as a packing aid, then keep the normal order check.
The Meesho label tool can queue multiple PDFs and sort by SKU, courier or quantity priority. If you prefer selecting files from a browser toolbar, the optional Chrome extension hands them to the same web tool. The web tool works without installing the extension.
When sorting helps
A packing team may pick from shelves by product, while downloaded labels arrive in a different sequence. Grouping matching SKUs can reduce switching between bins. A team that stages parcels for separate courier pickups may prefer courier groups. If you pack one order at a time or have very few SKUs, the original order may be simpler. Choose the sequence that matches the work on your table.
SKU, courier and quantity options
| Option | What it changes | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Sort by SKU | Orders pages by the SKU text extracted from each label | The code identifies the exact product and variation in your stock |
| Sort by courier | Groups pages by the extracted courier or pickup value | The courier on each parcel matches its handover group |
| Both | Orders by courier, then by SKU within each group | Each transition between courier groups and SKUs |
| Quantity priority | Places multi-unit or single-unit orders first, when selected | The printed quantity matches what the packer picked |
Quantity priority is applied before the courier and SKU keys. One courier may therefore appear in both the single-item and multi-item parts of the output. Choose No quantity sorting priority if you need a continuous courier group, then inspect the downloaded pages. A missing or unusual extracted value needs manual review.
Sort a sample batch
- Download the Meesho shipping PDFs for orders you are ready to pack and keep the originals.
- Open the label tool and select a small batch. Choose the invoice option and quantity priority separately from the sort; match the output page to your printer later.
- Select SKU, courier or both. Add quantity priority only if it helps the way your team picks.
- Generate the output and read the SKU and courier summary. Check any unknown values.
- Download the PDF, inspect the first and last page of each group, and print one test label.
Check the output at the packing table
Work from one label to one parcel. Compare the order reference, product variation, quantity and courier before sealing. Do not assume two labels with the same SKU describe interchangeable packs unless your inventory mapping says they do. Keep a place for exceptions so an unreadable code or unusual quantity does not get silently placed in the wrong stack.
For physical product stickers, use the separate SKU label printing guide. The sort option rearranges shipping labels; it does not create inventory stickers.
Measure whether sorting saves time
Run the same type of dispatch batch twice: once in your current sequence and once with sorting. Record the number of orders, SKUs, shelf trips, packers, packing time and corrections found before handover. That gives you a useful local measure. A fixed claim such as “40% faster” or “zero wrong items” would not describe every seller's warehouse.
PDF bytes and full page text are processed in the browser. After processing, a limited usage summary can be sent to Seller Analytics Hub; see the label data handling explanation. For combining several files, use the merge guide; for crop and print settings, continue with the main Meesho label guide.
Questions sellers ask
What does sorting Meesho labels by SKU do?
It puts labels with matching extracted SKU codes near one another in the output PDF. Check the SKU printed on each label against your stock records before using the group as a picking list.
Can I sort by courier and SKU together?
Yes. With both options selected, the tool orders labels by courier value and then by SKU within each courier group. Quantity priority, if selected, is applied before those two keys.
Does sorting guarantee a faster or error-free pack?
No. The benefit depends on your shelf layout, order mix and checks at the packing table. Measure your own packing time and wrong-item rate before and after changing the sequence.
What happens when a label has an unknown SKU or courier?
Treat the output as a draft packing sequence. Review unknown or unexpected values in the summary and on the printed page, and match the parcel to its order before sealing it.
Try the workflow with your own data.
Open the matching Seller Analytics Hub tool and review the result before using it for dispatch or reporting.
