What is the Meesho Next Day Dispatch (NDD) Program?
In the highly competitive Indian e-commerce landscape, fast shipping is no longer a luxury—it is a customer expectation. To encourage quicker order processing, Meesho launched the Next Day Dispatch (NDD) program. By opting into NDD, sellers agree to pack and hand over orders to couriers by the next calendar day, rather than the standard 2-3 day SLA window.
For buyers, NDD listings display a prominent fast-delivery tag, which increases conversion rates. For sellers, it represents a powerful tool to boost catalog search rankings and grow daily order volume. However, NDD requires operational efficiency. A late dispatch can lead to penalization, which wipes out your profitability. Let's look at how the program works and how to protect your operations.
Key Benefits of Joining Meesho NDD
Participating in the Next Day Dispatch program offers three main benefits:
- Search Ranking Boost: Meesho's search algorithm prioritizes NDD-tagged listings. You will notice an increase in organic traffic and views.
- Higher Conversion Rates: Indian consumers prefer products that arrive quickly. The NDD badge helps build buyer confidence.
- Reduced RTO (Return to Origin) Rates: Orders delivered faster have a lower cancellation-on-delivery rate. Getting your package to the customer quickly reduces their chance of buying a replacement elsewhere.
Understanding the NDD SLA (Service Level Agreement)
To keep your NDD status and avoid penalties, you must understand the timeline rules. Here is how Meesho tracks NDD orders:
| Order Received Day | Required Dispatch Handover Time | Penalty for Delay |
|---|---|---|
| Monday (Any time) | By Tuesday, 6:00 PM | Late fee deduction from payout |
| Thursday (Any time) | By Friday, 6:00 PM | Late fee deduction from payout |
| Friday / Saturday | By Monday, 6:00 PM (Sunday is excluded) | Late fee deduction from payout |
| Public Holidays | Excluded (Pushed to the next working day) | Late fee deduction from payout |
If you fail to dispatch an NDD order within the SLA, Meesho charges a late fee of ₹10 to ₹50 per order. If the order is delayed by more than 48 hours, it may get auto-cancelled, which incurs a stock-out penalty and reduces your seller score.
Eligibility & How to Opt-In for NDD
Not all products are suitable for NDD. To qualify, a catalog must meet the following criteria:
- Ready Inventory: You must have physical stock on hand. Made-to-order or custom items are not eligible.
- Low RTO History: Catalogs with extremely high return rates may be restricted from NDD.
- Strong Supplier Rating: Your overall panel rating should remain above 3.5 stars.
To opt-in, go to the Inventory tab on your Meesho Supplier Panel, filter by NDD Eligible catalogs, and toggle on NDD for the SKUs you have in stock.
Pro Strategies for Meeting NDD SLA Without Fail
Operating a next-day dispatch workflow requires clean operations. Use these tips to stay compliant:
- Use a Label Cropper: Do not waste time manually cropping and sorting PDF labels. Use our label cropper to merge, SKU-sort, and print batches in seconds.
- Pack by SKU: Grouping labels by SKU lets your warehouse team pick and pack products in batches, cuting packing time in half.
- Maintain a Buffer: Only toggle NDD for items you have physically boxed and ready to label. If you rely on a distributor, do not activate NDD.
